Samuel Barnett, a battle-hardened Confederate soldier, and his troop lay low, bracing for the inevitable clash with The Army of The Potomac. This encounter marks the beginning of many bloody battles between General Grant and General Lee. As the fight erupts, Samuel spots Jeremiah, a ten-year-old slave boy, who has wandered into the killing zone. In a fateful decision, Samuel charges through the chaos to save Jeremiah. When the smoke clears, Samuel finds himself face-to-face with death and begins to question his life and Confederate convictions. Dazed and confused, Samuel reluctantly follows Jeremiah on a journey through a parallel wilderness. As they struggle with their burgeoning friendship, Jeremiah guides Samuel through otherworldly encounters with a spectral cast of eccentric characters. These encounters challenge Samuel's inner demons of hatred, racism, bigotry, and violence.
