During the time of the Mexican Revolution, a dying woman calls the young priest of the town, before whom she confesses that she possesses a miraculous scapular that has the power to protect the life of whoever possesses it. Before dying, she tells the skeptical priest how the scapular saved the lives of her children, thus reviving four unusual intertwined stories.
