Eric and Makayla want a baby. They’ve been trying for years, in fact, through multiple miscarriages and failed rounds of IVF. They’re on the verge of giving up for good when they learn about an acquaintance’s miracle pregnancy, achieved through the Gravida Foundation, a secretive charity dedicated to helping couples struggling with infertility. The foundation sends a woman, Ola, to explain the process, which is far stranger and more magical than they’d realized. But after seeing a bit of Ola’s magic, and considering the generous terms of the Foundation’s offer—Eric convinces Makayla to give it a try.
