In the aftermath of the tragic and mysterious death of her 22-year old son, August, Anna Ellison arrives alone and out of place in the city where he died. The police, concluding that it was suicide, offer little solace. Anna takes up in August’s old apartment, trying to make sense of the loss of her only child and as an estranged mother must confront her own hidden guilt.
